TAVERN TALKS

Tavern Talks is an interactive, immersive program that takes place in local craft breweries across New Jersey, bringing participants face-to-face with the past. During the event, participants sit at a table with friends and strangers, reserving one seat for our reenactors. With the help of a booklet containing the goal of the program, guiding questions, and necessary historical context, participants meet and talk with the reenactors. Over the course of the event, reenactors will cycle around the room, akin to historical “speed dating,” allowing participants to hear different perspectives and experiences about the past. At the end of the program, all attendees are asked to reflect on the experience in a group share, discussing what they heard, learned, and decided.
